Who we are

Local Sri Lanka Tours (https://localsrilankatours.com) is a travel guide and trip-planning website. You can contact us on WhatsApp.

What we collect

  • Trip enquiries: your name, email (optional), travel dates, number of travellers, interests, budget, destinations, message, and the page you came from.
  • WhatsApp messages: the form opens WhatsApp with your trip details for you to send. When you send it, we receive your WhatsApp name and phone number along with the message.
  • Technical data: Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request data to deliver the site and block spam (including the Turnstile check on our form).

We do not use advertising cookies. TODO: update this section if analytics are added.

How we use it

  • To reply to your enquiry and help plan your trip.
  • To pass your enquiry to a local travel partner (agency, driver or guide) so they can send you a plan and quote. We only share what they need to do that.
  • To keep records of enquiries and referrals.

Who we share it with

  • Local travel partners in Sri Lanka who you will plan your trip with.
  • Service providers that run the site for us: Cloudflare (hosting and security), WhatsApp (Meta), which carries our messages, and Google (if enquiries are logged in Google Sheets).

We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 24 months, then delete them, unless you book a trip and longer records are needed. TODO: confirm retention period.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by messaging us on WhatsApp. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
